I GOT THIS EMAIL JUST THE OTHER DAY !!
Nick Savastano: 9/8/45 to 11/22/08
My fellow CALI members,
With much sorrow, I am writing to report that one of our long term and
valued CALI members, Nick Savastano, passed away on Saturday from a massive
heart attack, while in India filming a TV reality show.
Nick's passing is a great loss to our industry, as he was well liked and
respected by many people. Nick was an investigator and polygraph examiner
who started his business in 1982. He was 63 years old.
Here is a brief bio of Nick from his polygraph website:
Nick Savastano, a Certified Polygraph Examiner, graduated from the National
Academy of Lie Detection in 1982 and has conducted more than 4,000 polygraph
examinations throughout the United States and Europe. He has performed a
wide range of examinations for a variety of clients including multi-national
companies, Fortune 500 corporations, entrepreneurs, and private individuals.
He began his law enforcement career as a State Trooper with the
Massachusetts State Police. He then went into the private sector as Vice
President of Loss Prevention and Safety for a Fortune 500 company and in
1982 he started his own business, The Amherst Group, as a polygraph examiner
and private investigator.
Mr. Savastano is the selected polygraph examiner for several major
television networks in the United States and Europe. His credits include
"The Moment Of Truth", "Meet My Folks", "The Brady Bunch
25 Year Reunion",
"The Jimmy Kimmel Show", "Who Wants To Marry My Dad", "Temptation
Island",
"Celebrity Fit Club", "Nothing But The Truth", "The Tyra
Banks Show", "The
Mike & Juliet Show", and numerous other television and radio talk shows.
He
also appears in an expert interview on the DVD of the Robert De Niro movie
"Meet The Parents".
Nick is survived by Denise Savastano, also a CALI member, and their 11 year
old son Nick.
Funeral arrangements are pending. Nick had asked in his will to be cremated
and his ashes spread on a lake in Massachusetts, which is his birthplace and
where he worked as a Massachusetts State Trooper for eight years.
For those who wish to contact Denise Savastano directly to express their
condolences, her contact information is as follows:
